High-tech LED: It is understood that the future LED driver IC business of Changyuntong is divided into three parts, namely screen, spot color and lighting. Which one is more optimistic about the development of the business?
Wen Maoqiang: The LED surface is relatively wide. The company hopes to develop in several directions, so it has determined the three directions of screen, spot color and lighting. We have listed them as three development directions. Changyun has been doing integrated circuits for many years, and its technology and cost have great advantages in all aspects.
Among them, the products are relatively mature, and the screen IC is more than 80% of the screens in the world. Domestic IC companies have innate geographical advantages. At present, the company's screen IC performance has gradually increased, but we have invested less in screen research and development, mainly in the market and services, because it has developed very mature, there is not much to develop. Instead, companies invest heavily in lighting and outdoor decoration. We are relatively clear about the development of lighting ICs. At present, the resources are concentrated on bulbs and lamps. First, we will do these two products and then expand others. In the outdoor decoration IC investment is so high, although we can not see how much profit this IC can create for the company in 2012, we believe that the control software technology will be the high point of LED, will penetrate into the field of screen, decoration and lighting.
High- tech LED: The technology roadmap is crucial to the company's development. How is the company's technical route in these three areas positioned?
Wen Maoqiang: The display and outdoor decoration are all single bus transmission technology, with a single data line to read, current correction technology is also self-developed. Single-bus transfers make the transmitted data lines less and the cascading becomes stronger. The cascading of the IC becomes stronger and the control cost can be reduced. The correction technology solves the problem of sub-bin for the customer. At present, the display screen is divided into LEDs by bin, and the bin area is selected as the product. We reduce the cost by making the customer's bin area wider by calibration.
For lighting ICs, we use de-energized design. To develop this technology, high-voltage LEDs must be developed. Our approach is to string the LEDs between the two poles of the PV, string a lot of them, put their voltages up, and discharge them close to the mains voltage, so that the power supply can be omitted, no voltage conversion is needed, instead Is to make a small constant current source in it.
