On April 22, 2010, Cree, the market leader in LED lighting, introduced the new XLamp ® XM LED. This new single-chip LED not only achieves 160lm/w of high luminous efficiency at 350mA drive current, but also delivers 750lm of luminous flux at 2A (light efficiency of 110lm/W), which means less than 7W of such LEDs. The new device is packaged slightly larger than Cree's XP family, offering a unique combination of extremely high efficacy and extremely high drive current. The XM platform has a thermal resistance of 2°C/W, which is 350% better than the XLamp XP-E LED. This is an industry-leading technological breakthrough.
The XLamp ® XP-C color LEDs, which are available at the same time, offer colors such as deep blue, blue, green, yellow, red orange and red, further enriching the high-power color LED series. The new XP-C LEDs are up to 10-50% brighter than Cree's predecessor mid-range color LEDs.
Operating at 0.5 to 1W, the XLamp XP-C color LED provides a cost-effective solution for a wide range of color lighting applications. In addition, XP-C LEDs are often compatible with existing optical designs, helping to reduce system design costs.

In addition, Cree announced the launch of the new Screen Master® 4mm LED, which enables a wider industry perspective and is optimized for the outdoor display market; the new 5mm round yellow high-brightness LED provides a greater view of traffic signs.
The new C4SMK series of red, green and blue 4mm oval LEDs are new additions to the Screen Master ® Cree LED range, which have a wide range of viewing angles on the market and a light distribution curve for display applications.
The blue and green C4SMK 4mm LEDs provide a 115° horizontal viewing angle and a 65° vertical viewing angle, while the red C4SMK 4mm LED provides a 110° horizontal viewing angle and a 60° vertical viewing angle (equivalent to industry benchmarks).
The new 5mm round yellow high-brightness LED for traffic sign products with a minimum viewing angle of 15° or 30° is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the global traffic sign market.
The 15° high-brightness LED (C503B-AAS-015) provides a minimum of 12,000mcd of luminous intensity, while the 30° high-brightness LED (C503B-ACS-030) provides a minimum of 5,860mcd of luminous intensity.
